With nearly 40 years of experience, to be reached in 2021, of training highly skilled professionals for the textile and clothing industry, having around 12 thousand trainees each year in initial and continuous VET courses, MODATEX is, in the COSTUME project, keeping with its tradition of responding to the companies’ needs and at the same time actively participating in the definition of public policy regarding nationally recognizable professional profiles and qualifications, in line with its role as the Portuguese public training centre for this sector.

The COSTUME partnership has already developed the new Clothing Technician profile and qualification, as well as instruments to potentiate mobility in the countries involved in the project, and ECVET matrix and a mobility guide.

It is now time to prepare experienced trainers in the sector for the implementation of this new qualification pathway. MODATEX is currently leading the work package 4 of the project, providing guidance for all partners in establishing a training package for that purpose. New resources, that support training and cover all 9 competence units of the technological training framework, have already been developed by all partners.

Soon, 4 language versions will be created for the training package (English, Portuguese, Spanish and Romanian), a training action will be implemented, involving 30 trainers in 3 countries, and finally an assessment report will complete this work package.
