Complying with WP4 objectives, a train the trainers’ pilot action was organized and accomplished by project partners simultaneously in all countries involved. 34 experienced trainers, all of them over 35 years of age and with at least 5 years of professional experience, were prepared to use and promote the new profile and qualification, by using innovative and motivating techniques, while also assessing the profile and the training curricula. During 25 to 28 hours of training, at in person or distance sessions, these trainees were all important actors in the discussion, sharing and experimentation that took place.

The training action had a very positive global assessment, also when concerning its design and organization, its duration, the resources and techniques used, and the results achieved. The Training Package was considered extremely useful. Although recognizing that these results include all materials needed to organize and deliver training by themselves, there is still, to a slight degree, a felt need to share knowledge and to build up more confidence in order to implement what has been learned.

The clothing technician profile and qualification analysis revealed some variability between countries in the value attributed to competence units, however and more importantly, these were mostly ranked about 4 out of 5 points, with a global average ranging from 4.0 to 4.7, which portraits a highly consistent and consensual transnational profile. Nevertheless, participants emphasized the need to adjust the Clothing Technician profile according to the specific national orientations.

Suggestions to its improvement were valued, and these were mainly, in Portugal, to introduce new contents (industrial sewing as a new module and the collection design process as an objective for the industrial clothing module) and to reduce accordingly the duration of two other modules, namely cutting fundamentals and fabrics cutting technology.
